Research
Spiritual ecology is the vast, complex, diverse, and dynamic arena of intellectual and practical activities at the interfaces of religions and spiritualities with ecologies, environments, and environmentalisms. In 2012 I published my book Spiritual Ecology: A Quiet Revolution with Praeger. In May 17, 2014, it was the winner in the Science Category at the Green Book Festival, San Francisco, CA. Since 1986, in collaboration with my wife, Dr. Poranee Natadecha-Sponsel, I have been visiting Thailand during summers to pursue field research on Buddhist ecology and environmentalism including with a focus on sacred caves in particular.
